Abstract:

Efficient distribution of service requests between fog and cloud nodes considering user mobility and fog nodes’ overload is an important issue of fog computing. This paper proposes a heuristic method for Task placement considering the mobility of users, aiming to serve a higher number of requested services and minimize their response time. This method introduces a formula to overload prediction based on the entry-exit ratio of users and the estimated time required to perform current requests that are waiting in the queue of a fog node. Then, it provides a solution to avoid the predicted overloading of fog nodes by sending all delay-tolerant requests in the overloaded fog node’s queue to the cloud to reduce the time required for servicing delay-sensitive requests and to increase their acceptance rate. In addition, to prevent requests from being rejected when the mobile user leaves the coverage area of the current fog node, the requests in the current fog node’s queue will be transferred to the destination fog node. Simulation results indicate that the proposed method is effective in avoiding the overloading of the fog nodes and outperforms the existing methods in terms of response time and acceptance rate.

Abstract:

Investigations have revealed that human emotions are resulted from their internal neural operations. The feedback of each emotion, sent from the skull surface, can be received and processed as a signal. Brain signals can be received and recorded by the EEG setup. In recent years, researchers and scholars have utilized various methods to capture and pre-process the signal, feature selection, dimensionality reduction and classification of brain signals. But, the number and type of extracted features play key roles in classification. Since it is unknown which feature operates more effectively and due to the fact that the number of used features are typically high and dependent on person, reduction in number of features and improving the efficiency of the classifier have been focused by many researchers. The purpose of this article is to provide a multi-Task learning method to reduce the dimension and achieve a common space of features that describes the feelings of different people well. To show the efficiency of the proposed method, three well-known datasets are used, i. e. DEAP, SEED and DREAMER. Experiments are performed in two forms. In the first experiment, each channel is investigated separately. Channels with high efficiency are selected. The second experiment is performed by considering channels related to different parts of the brain (frontal, occipital, left hemisphere, right hemisphere). In the first experiment, the highest efficiency is about 80% and in the second experiment it is about 84%. Experimental results have shown that the proposed method have a higher efficiency than other comparing methods.

The Sensitivity of Quantitative electroencephalogram (Brain mapping) was Compared with Transient ischemic Attack (TIA) and computerized tomography (C.T. Scan) Finding. Twenty Patients were tested with Quantitative EEG (Brain mapping) within 24h from the onset of neurological symptoms where as CT Scan was performed within 24h from the onset of attack. EEG was recorded from 16 electrodes placed upon the Scale to the international 10-20 system. Spectral analysis was carried out for each channel. Absolute and Relative power were calculated for Delta - Theta -Alpha and Beta frequency bands and such data were successively represented in color coded maps. The results indicated that EEG mapping showed focal abnormality in delta band in 17 of 20 cases.

Abstract:

An efficient mapping can reduce the negative effects of tile scattering in the input programs and consider the running order of the Tasks and their communication based on the criteria of reducing energy consumption and communication cost. The HHMap algorithm considers both homogeneous and heterogeneous 3D NoC architectures. This algorithm achieves optimized mapping in the limited heuristic states by implementing sorting functions among the graph Tasks and clustering these Tasks in the order of their input and output communication volume. By considering the priority of Task clusters allocated to the tile clusters and the dependency of each Task on the other Tasks, this proposed algorithm avoids scattering the allocated tiles on the whole network during the mapping process. It significantly reduces energy consumption and communication cost. The proposed HHMap algorithm for mapping frequently used graphs has been evaluated, and its experimental results show good efficiency compared with recent mapping methods.

Abstract:

In this paper, a static Task scheduling and mapping heuristic approach to optimize execution time, reliability, power and temperature of multiprocessor systems on chip is presented. This method is proposed based on the list scheduling approach and utilized Task replication, dynamic voltage and frequency scaling, and adding cooling slacks to improve reliability, power consumption and temperature to expand the design space and explore the solution set more efficiently. Due to the existing trade-offs among the considered parameters and their optimization, the optimization process is complicated and our proposed method is used the Pareto front generation technique. Moreover, our proposed method, models the objectives comprehensively to consider their dependency. Several experiments are performed to demonstrate the performance and capability of the proposed method in joint optimization of the parameters and extracting the proper solution set. Compared to the previous research, our proposed method outperforms them in optimizing the considered design parameters and its results is 19% better averagely than an efficient studied heuristic method.

Abstract:

The present paper investigated the effectiveness of concept mapping as a learning strategy on EFL students’ self-regulation (metacognitive self-regulation, time and study environment, effort regulation, peer learning, and help seeking). Sixty university students participated in the study. They were randomly assigned to control and experimental groups, each including thirty students. They were at the intermediate level of English proficiency and studying English either Translation or Literature. Their language proficiency was determined by the Michigan Test of English Language Proficiency (MTELP) (Corrigan, 1979). The instrument to collect data on the students’ selfregulation was the Motivated Strategies for Learning Questionnaire (MSLQ) (Printrich et al., 1991). The findings revealed that students gained higher self-regulation in writing Tasks as the result of the explicit instruction of the concept mapping strategy. The findings have implications for pedagogy as well as for research.

Abstract:

THIS PAPER PROPOSES AND EVALUATES A PERFORMANCE EFFICIENT APPLICATION mapping ALGORITHM FOR MESH-BASED NOCS. THE PROPOSED ALGORITHM FIRST PRIORITIZES TaskS OF THE GIVEN APPLICATION GRAPH BASED ON THEIR TOTAL IN/OUT COMMUNICATION TRAFFIC. THEN A Task WITH THE MOST COMMUNICATION TRAFFIC IS SELECTED AND MAPPED ONTO THE CENTER PART OF THE MESH TOPOLOGY I.E., A CORE WITH THE MOST AVAILABLE COMMUNICATION CHANNELS. AFTER THAT, REPEATEDLY, THE NEXT Task IS SELECTED IN A WAY THAT HAS THE MOST COMMUNICATIONS WITH THE ALREADY MAPPED TaskS. SUCH A Task IS MAPPED ONTO THE CORE WHICH ITS DEGREE IS PROPORTIONAL TO THE TaskS LINK DEGREE. THE PROPOSED METHOD IS EVALUATED BY NOXIM WHICH IS A CYCLE-ACCURATE NOC SIMULATOR IN TERMS OF COMMUNICATION COST I.E., TO TOTAL NUMBER OF PACKETS TRAVERSED THROUGH THE NETWORK TO COMPLETE THE APPLICATION GRAPH. THE PROPOSED METHOD IS COMPARED WITH SEVERAL PREVIOUSLY PROPOSED mapping ALGORITHMS INCLUDING NMAP, CMAP, LMAP, PSMAP, CASTNET. COMPARISONS SHOW THAT THE PROPOSED METHOD OFFERS BETTER PERFORMANCE AND CONSUMES LOWER ENERGY IN THE NETWORK.
